The Heston Tree Spade is designed to simplify the task and lessen the physical exertion of removing and/or transplanting small trees and shrubs while minimizing shock or injury to better their chance of replant survival. The Heston Tree Spade package includes: a curved steel bladed spade with steel handle; a ram-type driver that fits over the handle for driving the blade into the ground; a two-wheeled dolly that attaches to the spade handle, and adjustable straps that secure the plant and its root ball to the dolly for transporting. Reportedly, three or four insertions under the edge of the tree/shrub's outer foliage umbrella are sufficient to uproot it with an 18-inch root ball.
