Homemade Mower-Mounted Garden Planter
Having a half-acre plot, Victor Riggen's Homemade Mower-Mounted Garden Planter saved him a lot of both time and effort. The Decatur (IL) gardener bolted to the chassis of his riding mower an angle-iron frame that held two Earthway seeders side by side and 2 feet in front of the mower. Flat metal bracing stabilized and kept the seeders aligned. Riggen raised/lowered them to a set depth with a manual lever (similar to that on an old plow). The mower's wheels straddle the planted rows; and each row was kept straight by using the previous planted row's wheel tracks for guidance.
