Zoom Electric All-Terrain Vehicle
The partially-foldable, four-wheel-drive Zoom Electric All-Terrain Vehicle is 53" L x 29" W x 33" H and 165 lbs., reportedly small and light enough that two people can lift and fit it into an SUV, pickup bed, or mini-trailer. The Zoom is designed to be powerful enough to drive through sand, snow, mud, streams, and go just about anywhere off-road that one could walk without climbing. The four hub motors are designed to generate a maximum speed of 12 mph and its twin 48-volt batteries reportedly have a range of over 25 miles before recharge is necessary. The Zoom's frame is steel; the independent-suspension, 17-inch, tilt-in wheels are aluminum with pneumatic tires; speed control is via motorcycle-style twist grips; and the brake system is the two-circuit hydraulic disk-type. To facilitate getting on and off the vehicle, the optional swivel chair turns sideways (90 degrees in both directions), and the handlebar folds forward.
