Freedom Lift
The Freedom Lift, which is a boom-style lift with a platform on a folding extension arm, mounts in the bed of a 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton pickup truck. It provides access to most types of equipment used on farms/ranches, thus eliminating the need to alter each piece of machinery. It operates by hydraulics using its own electric hydraulic pump, which runs off of the pickup's 12-volt battery. Hydraulic actuators raise and rotate the boom and extend the lift arm, allowing it to reach over 7 feet high and nearly 11 feet past the side of the truck. A hydraulic outrigger, which is mounted in place of the rear bumper, automatically extends down to provide stability when the lift is activated. The lift platform can accommodate a wheelchair or a flip-down seat for a person not using a wheelchair. The lift can be operated by a radio remote control unit or by switches mounted on the lift platform. The remote control allows the farmer/rancher to position the lift next to the machine being accessed while seated in the machine's operator station or in the pickup truck. Although the Freedom Lift provides long and high reach plus versatility by being truck-mounted, transfers between the lift and the machine being accessed may still be as long as 5 feet, because the lift platform cannot be maneuvered into the equipment's operator station. The device comes with a one-year warranty for all components; and the price includes complete assembly, installation, and adjustments.
