With the exception of the steering wheel, the Joystick-Operated Fendt Vario Tractor allows one-handed control of all driving and hydraulic functions. Results of the moves made are displayed on the Vario Terminal computer screen that also lets one fine-tune performance/program settings. Joystick operation is made possible by the tractor's sophisticated continuously variable transmission (CVT), which research shows can increase power output 20 percent and working efficiency 10 percent while cutting diesel consumption 10 percent.
