Hands-Free Skid-Steer-Mounted Log Splitter
The Hands-Free Skid-Steer-Mounted Log Splitter mounts on most makes of skid steers and excavators and is operated by the machine's on-board hydraulic controls. The splitter itself is basically a large, cone-shaped, rotating screw that burrows into wood until the wood splits apart. The device has a range of movements, including tilting up and down (like a pendulum), which allows the operator to approach the log or stump from any angle. The newer Hands-Free Skid-Steer-Mounted Log Splitter Plus has three additional attachments--cement mixer, power-take-off, and post-hole digger.
Caution Notes: Tasks like tree felling, brush clearing, log splitting, and wood cutting are dangerous, and utmost caution should be used to protect the operator and bystanders. Follow the recommendations of the equipment/tool manufacturer for proper use and for necessary protective equipment needed for safe operation.
